Is anything too hard for the Lord? The rhetorical question from Gen 18:14.
Our testimony loud and clear after over 3 years on the ground in Kenya is; Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! There is nothing too hard for God
Be encouraged. Remember to cast all your care on Him for He cares for you. Nothing can separate you from His love. Whatever trouble is testing you don’t just bear it and don’t run from it. Put it into the hands of the Master Potter. Share with Him the most intimate cries of your heart. Let Him take the misunderstanding, the abuse, the injustice, and the pain. Watch Him with skilful hands turning, repairing, and moulding the beautiful and treasured person that you are in Christ Jesus.
Kenya: In the past 2 months Nancy has started to feed 46 orphans at the Children’s Home which sought our support. We are discussing with management longer term involvement. She is also supporting 100 nursery children at a 3rd Rendille village and has completed our first bore hole in the Rendille area.
Kim, the young man who joined us to run bible education in Clifford’s absence on a 5 month YWAM course, has quickly established himself. He is a good help for Nancy. Clifford, on the course is excited about what God is doing in his life. Daniel another young man has been recruited to join Franco and Maria visiting in the Turkana villages bringing kindness and love to the elderly infirm. Lillian has been managing the home and caring for Glory our youngest orphan now 1 year.
Nancy wrote on 6th Nov:
‘Trip to Rendille (4-6 hrs North in Landrover) – couldn’t go to Lekuchula because of seasonal river. Other places dry. Left everything with Raphael to arrange. His place totally no food it was a miracle for us to take porridge. People are starving, no Government food. Elder from village just behind mountain in front of Raphael’s place visiting here welcomed us. I prayed with him and his beautiful young wife. We pray for this big open door that God will direct our paths to reach out to those he has given us. (Rendille less than 5% Christian). Margaret (Team leader in Wamba with 72 orphans) asked if we could increase the food. They want to cook for the kids on Sundays – no food at their guardians homes. They are suffering.’ Answer Yes.
The Wamba site papers are now ready at Marallel and this month she will take them to Nairobi for final approvals. Despite some slippage we should, God willing, still be ready to start building the 48 bed Children’s Home for orphans early in the New Year.
Give God thanks for two deaf and three blind children sent to specialist boarding schools in September and now sponsored.
We can do more with your help.
Report from Matthew and Mark on their Summer Visit to Kindfund Kenya:
Hmmmm a report about Kenya what can we say? Truly one of the most moving and valuable things we have done. We arrived in Kenya not knowing what to expect and from then on woke up every morning, or in the middle of the night surrounded by elephants, not knowing what to expect! Every experience you have there is new and exciting. The culture and the attitude of the people is so different it really makes you see things from a new perspective.
What impressed us most was that we were allowed to see things as they really are (good and bad)
To be there working was a blessing in itself but to really feel part of the experience and indeed the whole project is a memory that will last a long time. To know also that anything you do is for the Lord. It is really humbling and encouraging.
So what did we actually do? Mark and I with the help of Clifford and Teresa (hope you can recognise us) ran a bible school for the first 2 weeks in 3 locations, Ngaramara, Wamba and Archers Post. We did some teaching, games and things and generally tried to make sure the kids had fun whilst receiving something from the word of God. Following this and the kids going back to school we travelled about a bit and went to see some of the new projects being started by Kindfund.
One of these was the Rendille where we saw some of the most remote parts of Kenya. It was truly awesome to see them being introduced to the Gospel for the 1st time (even if we were suffering from the Landrover drive).
Apart from these excursions we passed our last week in Ngaramara in relative peace, mostly just doing what Pam and Ken told us!! Haha!!! In seriousness Kenya 07 was a highly enjoyable time and something I would have no hesitation in doing again. Thanks to Kindfund for putting up with us.
Thanks to God for the opportunity to serve Him!!! “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few” Matthew 9:37
Potential New Work: Would you be interested in helping us assume management responsibility for a small 175 pupil Primary School? Call us for information and to discuss.
Home Base: Praise and thank God for all who help and show generosity and love for the Lord in many ways. Every day is a miracle of His grace. He continually surprises us as He provides for the poor. Our joy is to listen to Him and obey.
