Thur 13th March Nairobi
The weekend had been one of preparation for our departure. Going through the details of each of our locations, working out budgets and visit arrangements and dealing with all the little things that would require financing for the next two months. I sat up late two nights completing spreadsheets on the computer and bringing them into line with our new accounting arrangements. |

Greetings we arrived last night at the Mennonite Guest House in Nairobi by Toyoto estate car courtesy of the owner of the Uniform Shop in Isiolo. We were able to hire for a few days to complete some business here in Nairobi and visit Clifford [runs our bible programme] at Athy River South of Nairobi off the Mombasa Road. He is graduating from the 5 month YWAM course we sent him on. Recommended by the Cowans from Tuum as ideal to relax there is a real peace here.... |

Thur 21st Feb Ngaremara
Was it last Thur that I wrote. As we say a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then and we have seen God's favour. Making a way when the way was blocked. First let me tell you in order.
Thur 14th. I left you with third gear out and we had arrived at Marallel. Internet cafe to timber yard where Locham had taken the landrover to remove the gearbox. I met him there at 4pm with the gearbox already out and gears, bolts and nuts seemingly everywhere. We continued and at 16.45 Locham went off up the town to buy no.3 gear, other parts and oil with 4000ks. I rested in the shade on the car seats. Locham was back in 30 min. Not enough money for oil. |

Thur 14th February 2006 Marallel
Greetings from Marallel on st. Vals day.
Mon 11th: we travelled back from Nanyuki hoping to be at Ngaremara early afternoon. Not to be. Nancy and Locham had been delayed and were waiting for us at the stage with 12 beds on the roof to be taken to the Childrens Home 5kms out of Isiolo. First visits to Equity Bank(check if funds sent by Phil have arrived - not yet) and Barclays. We have decided to open an account at Barclays to avoid total dependence on Equity.Nancy needed photo etc signed and the manager of the branch would pass by internal mail to Nanyuki where we had filled in forms before leaving. Phone call from Blind unit. |

Sat 2nd Feb 2008 Ngaremara
Habari (How are you). We trust you are well as we are here at Ngaremara North Kenya we have had a very busy week since I last reported on Sat 26th. The situation in Kenya has worsened somewhat during the week but we thank God that this area has been free from any problems. We have felt the impact in that the Govt officials at Marallel seem to have got caught up with the problems at Nakuru and this has prevented us from making any progress with the registration of the land at Wamba for the children's home. |

Ngaremara 26th Jan 2008
Travelled North from Nairobi on Tue 22nd without incident. We were warmly greeted by N'garemara Team and a short presentation of singing and learnt bible verses by the orphans. We greeted everyone and brought greetings from home. We unpacked and organised for bed hoping we would soon adjust to the heat. We were saddened to learn of the death of one of our orphans just last week. She had been ill over a long period and although 8 yrs looked about 4. |

Nairobi 19th Jan 2008
Pamela and I arrived here at 9am on Fri morning. After a delay in Dublin because of the emergency at Heathrow the flight out was quite empty so we were able to stretch out. Nevertheless the very hectic programme of the last few weeks made us welcome the opportunity to go straight to bed at the guest house, but not before we had enjoyed the welcome from the staff many of whom we now know well. |
