A vibrant Christian witness in every Turkana, Samburu and Rendille village.

How

Showing God’s wonderful kindness and love in action through supporting the social action God has placed in the heart of the local Christian community and empowering them to do the work.

Our big focus for 2008 is the development of our first home for the most desperate orphans at Wamba where many are the innocent victims of AIDS. In 2007 we began to support 20 nursery children among the Rendille West of Laisamis, 2 hours North from Archers Post. After two visits to Laisamis in July and September we expanded to support three nursery schools and 202 children rising in September 08 to 8 nursery schools and over 400 children. We have been asked to consider expanding this to 15 nursery schools and over 700 children among the Rendille a tribe living on the edge of the desert.  We subsequently dug a borehole and provided an Afridev handpump in a Rendille village in Feb 2008 a further borehole and handpump at another needy village in August 2008 and are currently digging at a third Rendille village as at September 2008. There are more opportunities among the Rendille who have little contact with the outside world.  Please pray for these and other developments of the work. We know it is God's heart.

Method

The Lord has given us a picture of the ‘London’s Eye’ fairground wheel with each seat representing the hub of a wheel. The hubs themselves represent larger villages/small towns with the spokes running out to the traditional villages in their areas.

Tthe first three hubs have developed at N’garemara, Archers Post and Wamba. In 2006 we began a work with orphan children at Wamba (c.65kms North West of our original site at Ngaremara). The Lord has recently opened a door at Laisamis where the next hub may develop. We have also been asked to take over a small  Primary School (150 pupils ) in a remote location near the Uaso river and to sponsor a Children's Home with 46 children at Isiolo. In Sept 2007 we  took responsibility for sponsoring 3 children at the School for the Blind at Isiolo. During our first visit in 2008 we have assumed the main sponsorship responsibility for this unit, repairing and extending their solar lighting, completing work on new buildings to enable them to be occupied and ensuring all 14 children at the unit have sufficient nourishing food. We have been asked to become trustees of this home.

Pray for the vision for the labourers and for wisdom to discern God's will.
