Kindfund is supporting local Christians to develop nursery education for 700+, 3-6 yr olds The children are prepared for Primary education in a Christian environment. A new stone built permanent school (2 classrooms, kitchen, store, toilets and well) was completed December 2004 on a generous 10 acre site donated by local council. Cost: of building £12,500 (Photographed below). A new single classroom was opened in August 2005 at the village of Aukot. Three other schools were added from March 2006 and a further 2 from October 2006. In April 2007 we began to support 20 Nursery Children among the Rendille tribe. Recently increased to 202 and now at Sept 08 to 400+. Jonathan visited the first site 25kms West of Lasamis on 14th and 15th July 07 bringing two 90kg bags of food as a gift, and returned with a list of needs some of which we met during our visit in early September. We have now Sept 08, agreed to support eight nursery schools and have been requested to consider another seven in remote villages. There are opportunities to penetrate further West to even more remote communities which we hope to follow up next visit. We have provided one of the schools with a bore hole and hand pump for clean water and are currently Sept 08 digging at another..
