Sat 22nd March 2008 Wamba:

Tonight we spoke to Nancy. She has spent most of the week in Wamba where the children's home building project has kicked off, organising accomodation, working with the Chief to set up the infrastructure for the builders and dealing with a number of teething problems. She was very upbeat in her assessment.

Clifford and Locham have been purchasing and organising transport from Isiolo. All the remaining initial supplies will be in place by Tuesday.

The posts from Marallel to fence of the construction area arrived today. The builders have dug the foundations and begun to lay the hard core, concrete and reinforcing bars. The water supply has been turned on to the large concrete tank from which we will draw water to the site to fill our 6000 ltr plastic tank which will come on Tue along with stone to build into the foundations.
The brick making team from Tuum (Stephen Cowan, missionary from Co Down and Duncan) have been put off until Wed when the water will be on the site in sufficient quantities to supply their hydraulic machine.

The project has raised a lot of interest in Wamba. Our 72 orphan children whom we feed daily are over the moon. They can't believe that the home we have been talking about is really going to happen. Pray for Nancy and all the team as they manage this major project. We will be spending £25k(3mks) in this phase and we can see God's hand in bringing the team together and in the timing.
