16th May 2008 Nancy reports three new orphans taken on to feeding programme at Wamba. Others doing well and very excited as they see their dream coming to pass as we build the 48 bed children's home. At Archers Post the feeding programme is continuing with 40 orphans and 80 very poor children. The British Army have now committed to build a new permanent kitchen for the programme commencing in September. We will part finance this project. Nancy has visited all 80 members of the elderly who are on our supplement programme in the nearby villages. She says, "I have been able to visit all that we are supporting, praying and praising with them, talking to them about health and it has been very encouraging, very positive they love to see us going to meet them. I have admitted 5 more to the programme." The relationship with Kilimani children's home continues to strengthen as they appreciate that we care for them through practical help and involving them in our programmes. Nancy writes, "the children at the Blind Unit are very good looking and health restored. They are happy." About the nursery schools Nancy writes. "Encouraging that the teacher is teaching the parents about health especially this time after the short rains when we have a lot of flies and mosquitos. It will help to avoid eye sickness and malaria." The Chinese contractors have begun the work on the Great North Road from Isiolo. less bumps and quicker transport. Like us all at home here in Europe they have noticed large jumps in food costs. Nancy reports 90kg of beans now 6,000ks (3,400ks in February). The team in Kenya send their greetings and prayers for all who have been touched by God to support his work among the poor. Nancy has been encouraged as she has seen reconciliation and unity in the body of Christ.. |
