16th July Nanyuki

Arrived here today to follow up a few issues and have a short break.
Last week on Wed George Linda Nancy and I travelled to the Rendille where we spent
3 days meeting Raphael and family and visiting the three nursery schools we support.
Raphael has discussed with us the possibility of supporting a further 6 Nursery schools
in the area and around Corr - the centre of the Rendille tribe. Please pray about
this. There are 330 children involved.

We took along James and Thomas our borehole team and all the equipment and supplies to
dig the borehole at Losidan. A trip back to Laisamis was required to collect cement
and food. We have left them at the village to continue the work. Pray for a successful conclusiion.

At Laisamis we called with the Secondary school and paid the fees of the two Rendille
boys we sponsor there.

The furthest village Lockachula is now without water in the immediate area as the rock
pool has dried up. The women take to 12noon to walk and collect water for the
nursery children. As soon as we have the pump on at Losidan we will dig here. Two Afridev
hand pumps have been ordered and are ready to collect from Meru one hour from Isiolo.

George and Linda enjoyed the camping experience on the edge of the desert. Pamela had
remained at Ngaremara to work with the orphans there.

We have visited two nursery schools and the local primary school in the Turkana area
of Ngaremara. George and Linda seeing some of the problems first hand. The wind and dust
on one visit had the children white. Their meal was delayed as elephants had prevented the
cooks getting to work on time.

At our Ngaremara base we had a good visit on Sunday from the Chief Secretary of the Salvation Army in Kenya and his wife.  We agreed to work together where we can to help the local community.

Unfortunately we cannot get the Toyota at this time.

Next week we plan to visit the Samburu Primary School at Serena Park and then on to the
children at Wamba for two nights to spend some time with them and see the progress with
the childrens home - Windows, doors and final plastering underway.

On the way back we will call at the Archers orphan feeding project and at the end of the
week we plan to be at Kilimani Childrens home for an overnight and to complete some
repairs to their buildings. We will also visit the Blind Children at Kambi Ya Juu Primary.

We value your prayer for wisdom in handling many difficult situations.
In Christ

Ken and Pamela
